Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Report Submitted

15th July 2019

Posted in: News

Stadium for Bath project team are preparing technical documents to support the future planning application. These documents will form an Environmental Statement, which is the method of reporting the Environmental Impact Assessment (“EIA”).

The EIA Regulations 2017 allow applicants to request a ‘Scoping Opinion’ from local planning authorities. The Scoping Opinion is the local planning authority’s opinion on the necessary scope of the EIA, and is subject to consultation with statutory bodies with environmental responsibilities (including the Environment Agency, Natural England, Historic England and in some cases others).

A Scoping Report for the Stadium for Bath project has recently been submitted to the Council, and is available on their website under reference 19/03133/SCOPE. The Council will consult on the submitted documents and the proposed scope of the EIA with internal and statutory stakeholders.

The Council do not normally accept public responses to these matters, and so we are publishing this document for information only.
